JBL L200 Studio Monitor

I had the opportunity to hear a pair of these JBL L200 studio monitors recently. They are pretty big and two way. The demo was nice but I'd like to live with a pair for a while to form a proper opinion. Gotta love these big JBL studio speakers.

  1. Nice pics.Back in the day the removable plastic horn deflection piece worked very well. Try this. L200 monitors in corner of room facing wall corner ,stick deflectors on pointing upward.the whole sound deflects and those horns are so powerful straight on they will rip you're ears from you're head.Mine sounded smooth and great positioned like this ,Cranked of course. Nice site!

  3. Nice to see an original pic of these. I acquired a pair, minus the foam grills. I have been using these for about a month and lost the voice coil on one of the horns. A repair shop tells me it will cost at least $300 to replace. Does that sound reasonable? They sound awesome and I would hate to mothball them.

  4. A few years back (early 90's) I bought a pair of these from a friend in really nice shape for $300 that seemed like a lot of cash but after a day of listening I was sold. (the free beer may have helped) I kept the L200's for 3 years then hit hard times and sold em for $600 to another friend I have lost touch with. I would by em back in a second but alas I recently found a good paid of Klipsch Cornwall II's and I'm happy & rockin again. Jsaint

  5. Anyone know what these speakers might be worth? My dad has a very old pair we don't really use and I'd like to sell them while people might still be interested in them. (That is, people old enough to remember them!)

  6. That depends. If you are in a big city craigslist is a great option. If not find a crating company that can do shipping and consider eBay. The market for speakers is a bit depressed in this economy. If they are in mint condition I'd say $500 to perhaps $1500 or maybe more in a heated auction. Good luck.
