This is the coolest piece of audio product bling I have ever seen. It was described as neon but I don't think so. I'd love to have a few of these for an RCA nightlight project.

It is what they called in the 70s a Nixie tube. When I was at Polytechnic School we had multimeters from Fluke that used mini versions with 10 filaments to create a digital display. You could see the figures jumping forwards and backwards when you were measuring. Later LED displays came on the scene.
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing a 'digital' clock using these tubes too.
Are you sure it is a Nixie as it doesn't have the mesh wires that usually make up the letters or numbers. It looks more like a modified light bulb.
